Dr Manoj Gupta is currently working as associate Professor in the department of Mechanical engineering at National University of Singapore. He is on the editorial board of 15 internation journals and on the review team of 32 journals. His current interest of reseaarch are Development of Energy Efficient Techniques such as Microwave Processing and Disintegrated Melt Deposition Processing, Development of light weight materials with current focus on magnesium based nanocomposites and Development of lead free solders with good strength and exceptional ductility.


 

Dr. Mrinal Pal appointed as a faculty member (Lecturer) at The University of Burdwan in 2002 and promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2006. He moved to CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute, Durgapur in 2010 as a Principal Scientist. Currently, he is Principal Scientist at CSIR-Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute, Kolkata. The research work of Dr. Pal primarily aims at synthesizing Nanostructured materials and understanding their structure-property correlation for various applications. Dr. Pal has postdoctoral research experience for over four years in countries like Italy, Japan, Russia and India. He has received prestigious awards including STA fellowship of Govt. of Japan and MRSI Medal-2016. He has guided several students for their Ph.D. degree. He has published around 90 papers in SCI journal of international repute.

Dr. D. Ravi Kumar is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engg., IIT Delhi. He obtained his Ph. D. from IIT Madras in 1996 and joined R&D, Tata Steel, Jamshedpur. He joined as a faculty at IIT Delhi in 1998. His research interests include Sheet Metal Forming and FE Analysis. He published over 40 research papers in national and international journals and conferences. Dr. Ravi Kumar won the Best R&D project award in Tata Steel for the year 1997-98. He was a visiting faculty at the University of Waterloo, Canada in 2005-06. He was a Humboldt Research Fellow at the Institute for Metal Forming Technology, University of Stuttgart, Germany in 2008. He received J.M. Mahajan award for the outstanding young teacher in Mechanical Engg. at IIT Delhi in 2008. He was principal investigator of sponsored research projects funded by DST, ISRO and DRDO and supervised several Ph.D. and M.Tech. theses.


   

Prof V V KutumbaRao has been working as technical advisor for Centre for Knowledge Management in Nanoscience and Technology, Hyderabad. Dr. V KutumbaRao did his BE Metallurgical Engineering at Indian Institute of Sciences Banglore.He did his M.Tech Metallurgical Engineering and Ph.D. at Banaras Hindu University . Experience:-He worked as a faculty at different level including Professor and HOD in BHU at Department of Metallurgical Engg,IIT,BHU.He worked as Director of Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminium R D&D Centre from 1999-2002 Nagpur. He worked as the Director for Institute of Technology GITAM University and Pro Vice Chancellor for GITAM University between 2003 and 2008. He is also an honorary visiting Scientist for DMRL Hyderabad. He is Fellow of Indian National Academy of Engineering.(FNAE) and Indian Institute of Metals(FIIM) and Institute of Engineers India(FIE).

   

Distinguished scientist G Kalyanakrishnan has taken charge as Chief Executive of Hydereabad based Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC). He has a vast experience in erection and commissioning and operation of heavy water plants.

He made several pioneering contributions in streamlining various operations and activities of the heavy water plants.

He has played a key role in supply of reactor components for the forthcoming 500 MWe Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (PFBR), being constructed at Kalpakkam

   

Shri Manoj Kumar Gupta is presently working as Senior Mechanical and R & D Engineer in the recently approved Mega project from Govt. of India –“LIGO (Laser Interferometer Gravitational wave Observatory”. He has very wide experience of 20 years in designing, large scale vacuum and cryogenic systems. His main core expert areas are structural, thermal, cryogenics, vacuum
and FEA. He is involved as the project coordinator for some of the DAE projects. He has a many research publications in well-known Journals.

He has done his M. Tech in Cryogenic Engineering. He is mentoring many projects for M. Tech. He is gold medalist.

   

Dr. AnandParey is working as an Associate Professor in the department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Indore. He holds a doctorate degree from IIT Delhi in Mechanical Engineering in 2006. He joined University of Alberta, Canada, as Post Doctoral Fellow in 2006. He joined Larsen and Toubro, Powai, Mumbai in 2008. Since 2009 he is with IIT Indore. His focus is on condition monitoring, noise and vibration isolation and in signal processing of mechanical systems. He has around 30 research papers in International Journals. He has been involved in many sponsored projects and industrial consultancy in the field of noise and vibration.

Primary research interest is in experimental and numerical studies in emerging materials (nanocrystalline metals and polymers), and new metal alloys, related to the constitutive modeling of finite plastic behavior at high strain rates and quasi‑static loading; and damage & failure modeling of composite materials and ceramics.

Secondary research interests are in development of yield and fracture criteria for granular rock materials and ceramics, elastic‑plastic fracture mechanics (especially fatigue crack propagation in metallic solids), metal forming, and in elastic‑plastic constitutive models for granular rock materials and ceramics.

Dr. Anish Upadhyaya is Professor and Head of Materials Science and Engineering Department at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. He obtained his B.Tech (Hons.) degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Institute of Technology, BHU, Varanasi in 1994. Subsequently, he did his MS (in 1996) and Ph.D. (in 1998) from The Pennsylvania State University, USA. Prior to joining IIT Kanpur, he was Research Associate at Penn State and served as Manager R&D at WIDIA, Bangalore.

Dr. Upadhyaya’s research specialization is powder metallurgy (P/M) processing of materials. Dr. Upadhyaya has been a research consultant for several companies both in India and Abroad. He has co-authored two text books and has two patents. He has been a recipient of several awards including INAE Young Engineer Award, INSA Young Scientist Award and Metallurgist of the Year Award.

   

Dr.Hariharan is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Delhi since Jan 2015. He received his PhD from IIT Madras in 2012 and B.E. from university of Madras. Prior to joining IIT Delhi, he has worked as a post-doc researcher in Graduate Institute of Ferrous Technology (GIFT), POSTECH, South Korea (2012 to 2014)and in the research department of Ashok Leyland Ltd, Chennai, India(2004 to 2012). His research areas are Sheet metal forming, Plasticity, Fatigue and Mechanical behaviour of materials.

   

Dr. Srinivasa Prakash Regalla

obtained his PhD in 1998 on Evaluation of Boundary Friction under Sub-surface Plastic Deformation for Metal Forming Processes from IIT Delhi. He obtained his M.Tech. in 1992 with specialization of Manufacturing science/Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur, where he carried out his thesis work on finite element analysis of steady state cold rolling of strain hardening material. He obtained his B.Tech. in 1990 in Mechanical Engineering from Kakatiya University, Warangal. He has 20research experience, which includes 17 years of teaching and brief industrial experience. He worked in the Manufacturing Systems Integration Division (MSID) at the NIST, Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA in 1998

as the NIST, Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA in 1998 as a Guest Researcher, during which he carried out research in the engineering design technologies related to national advanced manufacturing testbed (NAMT). He authored around 50 research papers in reputed journals and conference proceedings and 2 textbooks on design and manufacturing. His current research interests are Sheet metal forming, 3D printing and additive manufacturing, medical device design and manufacturing, micro-forming, product design, MEMS, CAD/CAM, tribology. He is a recipient of the prestigious BIG-5 grant of BIRAC, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India for carrying out research in the area of application of CAD/CAM technologies in medical implant manufacturing. He delivered several invited and keynote lectures in reputed conferences including one on recent trends in additive manufacturing at the NTU, Singapore in 2014. He is a member of ASME, TSI, IEI and SAE. Currently he is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Associate Dean of WILP at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus.

Dr, S K Nath has been engaged in research on wood based panel products and development of adhesive for last 31 years.He has extensively visited plywood and bamboo based industries in the country and helped the industry in process and product development. Dr. Nath is experienced in utilization of plantation timber for manufacture of plywood with respect to gluing and pre-pressing technique and technology is being widely used by plywood industry. He is the author of “Plywood Manufacturing Practices in India” – the only book on plywood technology by an Indian author. In the field of bamboo panel products, Dr. Nath has developed technology for manufacture of bamboo laminates and flooring tiles from Indian bamboo. At present Dr. Nath is working as Joint Director of IPIRTI and is in charge of research, training and testing activities of the institute.

He is a member of wood and wood products sectional committee of CED -20 of Bureau of Indian Standards and former Vice-President and a life member of Indian Academy of Wood Science. Dr. Nath has about 103 research and technical papers published in national and international journal. Dr. Ashok Kumar Singh, Scientist ‘G’ in the Materials Science Division of Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratory, Hyderabad, India, holds a Ph. D degree from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. He has also been an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow in The Technical University of Clausthal, Germany. Dr. Singh has more than 175 technical papers in international journals and conference proceedings to his credit. His current research includes the phase transformations of titanium alloys, texture development in materials during deformation and recrystallization, structural characterization by Rietveld refinement and nanomaterials.

Dr. T. K. Nandy
Dr. Nandy heads Powder Metallurgy Division of Defence Metallurgical Research Lab. that is developing a variety of powder metallurgy products for defense applications. Currently he is involved in the development of tungsten heavy alloys for advanced penetrator applications. Dr. Nandy was previously working as Group Head of titanium alloy group in DMRL. He was primarily involved in the development of high temperature titanium alloys for gas turbine aerospace applications. He has published about 80 papers in international journals and 19 technical reports in an in-house journal.

Dr. Jeong Whan Yoon is currently Professor of Applied Mechanics and jointly Head of Advanced Manufacturing at Deakin University. His research focus is mainly on computational mechanics of the lightweight materials including aluminum, Mg & Ti, and composite using virtual manufacturing technology. He led AusAMRC (Australian Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre with Boeing) at

Swinburne University as Research Director from 2010 to 2013. AusAMRC, which opened in November 2009, is part of 12 global networks of collaborating Boeing-engaged research centers around the world. He has published over 180 technical papers for international journals and conferences with over 2,000 citations (H-index: 24). He received “2008 International Journal of Plasticity Award” for outstanding contributions in the field of plasticity. He has been serving as an “Editorial-Board” member for International Journal of Plasticity since 2008 (IJP is the top journal in solid mechanics field with the impact factor of 4.36). As guest editors, he edited five special issues at Int. J. Plasticity and one issue at Int. J. Solids & Structures. He also has diverse industry experiences including LG Electronics (Korea) for product development, MSC Software Corporation (USA) for MSC. Nastran & Marc source code development and Alcoa Technical Center (USA) for leading the development of constitutive models for various aluminum applications. Professor Stephen W. Bigger graduated with a BAppSci and PhD from the University of Melbourne, Australia. His PhD was awarded in the applied chemistry field of polymer photo-degradation and stabilisation. After completing his PhD he was appointed as a la senior tutor and later lecturer in physical chemistry at the University of Melbourne where he worked for six years before taking up an academic

position at Victoria University, Melbourne, in 1991. He has published over 150 refereed papers and conference presentations. Professor Bigger has held several senior leadership positions at Victoria University. He is currently the Director of Research and Research Training in the College of Engineering and Science at Victoria University.

Dr. IndraVir Singh is currently working as Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India. Before joining IIT Roorkee, he completed his postdoctoral research work on nanocomposite modeling and simulation from Shinshu University, Japan. He has been given best paper award by Institution of Engineers, India. Currently he is a Chairman  & Professor in Department of Engineering and System Science (ESS). He is a Deputy Director of Biomedical Technology Research Center, National Tsing-Hua University form 2009.

He is also affiliated Professor in Institute of Nanoengineering and Microsystem (NEMS), National Tsing Hua University and Research Fellow in Academia Sinica, Taiwan. Dr. Tseng focuses his research area in MEMS, Bio-MEMS, Nano-biotechnology, Nanomedicine, Fuel Cell, MEMS packaging and Integration Dr. Tseng is in Editorial board of Applied Sciences from 2010, Journal of Circuits and Systems from 2010, open Micromachine Journal 2009, open Nanomedicine Journal 2008, MEMS special issue, Electronic Magazine 2009, Chinese Micro Electromechanical System magazine 2002,2004. Dr. N. B. Singh is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry of the University of Maryland Baltimore County. He held the position of Senior Consulting Engineer until December 30, 2011, the highest technical position in the Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems at Baltimore
Maryland. He is a Fellow of ASM International, a Fellow of SPIE-The International Society of Optics and Photonics, and a Fellow of OSA- The Optical Society of America (OSA), and internationally recognized for his managerial leadership and research in the area of materials science and engineering. Dr. Singh was identified as a “R&D star” to watch by R&D magazine. The American Society of Materials International honoured Dr. Singh by the “2010 Engineering Materials Achievement Award” for the acousto-optic materials for imagers. Dr. Singh has led and has been involved in several flight experiments sponsored by NASA on dendrite growth and Northrop Grumman Hg2Cl2 crystal growth experiments. He has published more than 200 journal papers, presented more than 150 papers in conferences, presented more than 80 invited talks, has more than an eighteen issued patents, more than 200 company trade secrets and invention awards. Dr. Singh has been Associate Editor of the journal, Progress in Crystal Growth and Characterization, for the past twenty years. He has been editor of several proceedings of the conferences and two books. He has served as a member on the editorial board and as a referee for many other journals. Dr. Singh has served on the organizing and advisory committees of many national and international conferences. Dr. Singh served the National Academy of Sciences as a panel member on the National Materials Advisory Board (NMAB) for many years. He frequently visits his family members in India and helps students in villages for achieving their college degrees in Science and Engineering.

Dr. Sachin Kore is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, Assam since July 2009.

He completed his Doctoral Work from IIT Bombay and Postdoctoral Work from University of Waterloo Canada.His areas of interest are Solid State Welding, Electromagnetic Manufacturing. He has published several research papers and book chapters on Electromagnetic Welding and Forming. Dr. Prashantha Kalappa received his Ph.D degree in Industrial Chemistry from Kuvempu University, India. After earning his PhD degree, he worked at the Indian Institute of Science-India as a Post doctoral researcher doing research on thermomechanical behavior of polymer nanocomposites. He then worked at Chonbuk National university-South Korea as a visiting scientist. During that time,
he worked on “Processing and Characterization of carbon nanotube filled polymer nanocomposites for industrial applications”. At present he is a faculty at the Department of Polymers and Composites Technology & Mechanical Engineering, Ecole des Mines de Douai – France. His current research focuses on the “Processing and Characterization of all natural polymer nanocomposites, smart polymers and biopolymers”.  He has published many research papers in peer reviewed journals and written three book chapters.
   
Dr. Sujan (CEng MIMechE) obtained his PhD from the University of Science Malaysia in 2006 majoring applied mechanics with specific research focuses on interfacial thermal mismatch stress analysis in layered structure. Over the years, he has been working in the area of thermo-mechanical stress analysis, composite materials, and green materials. He has more than 40 publications in reputable International Journals and Conference proceedings. Dr. Sujan is a member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, UK. Currently Dr. Sujan is a Senior Lecturer in Curtin University, Malaysia since 2008. He is at present a registered supervisor in Curtin University, Australia for Doctoral and Master Thesis.
   
Dr. Jaroslaw W. Drelich

Dr. Jaroslaw W. Drelich received his BS degree in chemistry and his MS degree in chemical technology from the Technical University of Gdansk (TUG), Poland, in 1983. After earning his MS degree, he worked at the TUG for 6 years as a research associate doing applied research on oily-soil
remediation, deoiling of aqueous waste, oil spill clean-up, and designing extraction units for analysis of oil concentration in water. At that time, he also worked as a consultant and an engineer to a few private engineering firms located in Gdansk (Poland), mostly designing wastewater treatment plants and units and analyzing quality of discharged waters from industrial operations.
Along with a few other faculty and engineering staff at the TUG, he contributed to invention, development and production of novel coalescence filters designed for cleaning small wastewater stream from dispersed oil. Jaroslaw earned his Ph.D. degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Utah in 1993. He then worked at the University of Utah for four years as postdoctoral fellow and research assistant professor. During that time his work concentrated on fundamental and advanced concepts of surface chemistry that he applied to oil sands processing, mineral processing, and materials recycling.
   
Dr. Bernard Rolfe

Bernard Rolfe completed his doctorate at the Australian National University (2002) investigating novel methods of inverse modelling for metal forming processes. Currently, he is a senior lecturer at Deakin University in Australia. He has been a part of ten successful competitive large research grants, totalling over AUD $5 million in awarded funds, and he has published over 50 refereed articles. His current research focus is the forming of light weight structures, including the development of better material models for metal forming.  In 2008 Bernard led the Deakin’s successful project team for Creating the Model-T for the 21st Century – a Global University Challenge.
